Tribute to Martin Andrews

Martin Andrews

‘Martin of the Mews’ is missed around the Square and his absence at the Garden Committee meetings is palpable.

The Garden Committee has installed a modest bird bath and plinth in tribute to his many years of loyal service to the Garden and Mecklenburgh Square.

The bowl is a bespoke piece designed by local artist Lucy Smith and is resting on a plinth which also has a hint of the Georgian – something we know Martin, with his love of Georgian architecture, would approve of.Martin Andrews Plinth & Bowl

It has been placed in the south east corner of the garden, near the gardeners’ gate, facing towards the mews where Martin lived for many years.
